POVILAS GODLIAUSKAS

I began working in the technology sector in 2015, joining Synergium Sweden AB—one of the most advanced translation and localization companies in the Baltics—where I led the HR team. From 2017 to 2021, I supported experienced IT professionals in securing positions at leading technology companies and startups, including Proton AG, Synernet, TRAFI, Vinted, Wix, and Zedge.

Over the course of my career, I’ve listened to more than 700 career stories—from programmers and testers to designers and managers. This experience has deepened my understanding of the unique strengths that tech professionals bring: high intelligence, insatiable curiosity, and a continuous drive for improvement. At the same time, many also face self-doubt, low confidence, and emotional or relational challenges that can hinder their ability to thrive both at work and in their personal lives.

APPROACH

I base my psychological counseling and coaching practice on theories and methods from various schools of psychology and psychotherapy. This allows me to better respond to the diverse expectations and goals of my clients.

I primarily draw from humanistic, positive, and coaching psychology—approaches that emphasize the importance of understanding one’s personality, strengths, talents, sources of meaning, values, and goals.

I also actively apply techniques from psychodynamic psychotherapy and relational psychoanalysis, which aim to explore how childhood experiences and unconscious processes influence our behavior and everyday choices.

In my practice, I value:

  1. Increasing awareness more than alleviating symptoms

  2. Embracing emotional pain more than chasing happiness

  3. Taking personal responsibility more than seeking blame

  4. Living a meaningful life more than a comfortable one

  5. Pursuing lasting change more than short-term fixes

I also adhere to the Code of Professional Ethics for Psychologists developed by the Lithuanian Psychological Association.
